R.I.P., Socks
Socks, the black and white tuxedo cat who had been adopted by the Clintons in the White House, earning the sobriquet "First Cat," was euthanized yesterday. Socks, who had been living with former White House secretary Betty Currie since the Clintons left the White House in 2001, was reportedly 20 years old and had been undergoing treatment for cancer for several months.

I saw Sock's "obit" on the Net. The Bush's cat died, too. I kinda wish Obama would get a cat as well as a dog, but the allergy situation will preclude that. We watched La Dolce Vita last night, and I had forgotten about the little white kitten Anita Ekberg carried around.
I had completely forgotten about that kitten, thank you!
What a full life Socks had! I loved reading about him.
Socks did have a full life, but it's sad to read about anyway. My cat, Zoe, lived to be 20.5, and had a full and charmed life, and yet, I still wasn't ready for her to leave me when she did. Thanks for posting about Socks.
