Looking for a murder weapon

So after much back and forth and the kind of agony that involves getting a cup of tea. Putting it down. Walking around the house. Checking your email. Putting a load of laundry in. Making another cup of tea, and then realizing you already had one cooling. Checking on the laundry, which hasn't yet reached rinse cycle. Checking your email. Pouring out the tea because it has gone bitter. Checking your email. Finally putting laundry in the drier .... I think I've finally started writing again.

At any rate, today I am going to a nursery/garden supplies store. I'm getting ahead of myself, but if I can find what I hope to find, some of the crucial pieces may just fall into place. I'm looking for a murder weapon!

Yep, getting back to work after a vacation is really, really hard. But you will!

I've written two paragraphs... and spent countless hours reading about Sarah Palin. But now... to work!

I know exactly what you mean! By the time you do all those little things, there's no time left in the day for what you sat down to do in the first place. I do it all the time.

I do understand the difference between writing a short story and writing a book. BTW, I'm in the process of order the anthology coming out this fall with your story Dumb Beast. I hope they mark it well enough so you can inscribe it to me. I'm looking forward to your new story ... and this intriguing book, since I almost feel like part of it as you describe writing it. I do hope you include a cat somewhere...

Thank you, Sandie! And there is a cat. The heroine has a cat sidekick (of COURSE). A very self-assured (some would say bitchy) cat named Wallis.
